The first movement of Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings in E Flat, as performed by the Kodály and Auer Quartets on their excellent recording for Naxos. The composer wrote this at the age of 16!

The last two movements of Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14, played by the Kodály Quartet. One of the pinnacles of chamber music. One of the pinnacles of music, really.
